Fine pitch connectors allow a smaller overall
area occupied on the PCB as technology advances to produce
portable devices of smaller size but at the same time more
features thus causing saturation on PCBs.
This hermaphroditic board-to-board connector
has both plug (male) and socket (female) features which gives
user the convenience of using the same part on both of the
connecting PCBs. Use of such a connector on a large scale
proves easy on inventory management.
The patented “Chessboard” mating
geometry of alternate depressions and protrusions, much like
the black and white squares on the chessboard, is adapted
so that mating orientation of this connector during SMT on
the PCBs will not be a source of concern.
